Having lectured at Greenwich Community College, London for 42 years, Ray has become an accomplished maker and teacher of ceramics. He retired from full time teaching in 2007.
Seeking to grow old creatively and to continue to pass on his skills he has now established his current workshop at The Gables Yard, Pulham Market.
Ray’s work consist of a range of domestic pottery, but with particular emphasis on teapot forms inspired by the collection in the Norwich Castle Museum collection, and “lettered stones” which are either thrown or extruded slab forms. Commissions for commemorative plates etc also possible.
Ceramics courses in various aspects of ceramic practice are held during the autumn and spring. - details available via the link.

Ray Auker is a selected member of Anglian Potters, Suffolk Craft Society as well as Norfolk Contemporary Crafts.
