My potting career began 25 years ago when I worked as apprentice to local potter Martin Dickens, for four years. Following this I attended and graduated from Anglia Polytechnic University (based at Lowestoft College) with an OND and HND in Ceramic Design in 1996. During my college vacations I worked for Earth Pottery, Lowestoft. I then became resident potter at ‘The Village Experience', Fleggburgh, Norfolk, where for 7 years; I produced and sold my own range of hand thrown stoneware. Since then I have set up my small workshop in Oby where I built my own raku kiln in the summer of 2009. My current work consists of a range of both ‘naked’ and glazed raku wares. Forms are wheel thrown and are influenced by trips to Pompeii and Herculaneum, and the architecture of central and northern Thailand.
Alongside my raku work, I also make a range of functional stoneware.
Visitors are welcome to my workshop by appointment.
